About Me

I am based in Sheffield and offer Biodynamic Massage, Yoga and Somatic Practices for all those that would like a greater connection with their bodies, others and the world around them.

For almost 13 years I have been immersed in body centric therepeutic practices such as yoga, somatics as well as extensive experiential group work. I have studied and practiced with some truly wonderful teachers and am immensely grateful for all that I have learnt and experienced.

I offer touch as a form of therapy through Biodynamic Massage and I offer therpeutic movement and rest through Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga.

I have a special interet in perinatal health that includes Pregnancy, Postnatal, Loss and Abortion Support.

Biodynamic Massage

I am a Biodynamic Massage Therapist and trained with the Cambride Body Psychotherapy Centre. I am a member of the Association of Biodynamic Massage Therapists.

After many years of teaching yoga and movement I was drawn to Biodynamic Massage as a way to work with the body through touch. Touch can be a deeply profound way to meet someone and to allow them to meet part of themselves and emotions that may otherwise be unaccessible. I have found it to be a transformative, relational therapy. Receiving Biodynamic Massage has enabled me to come into contact with parts of me that I was unaware of at a conscious level. I am so pleased to be able to now offer it here in Sheffield.

You can read more about my work here and book online also.

Yoga and Movement

I came to yoga in 2012 to live more fully and through feeling quite disconnected from my body. I was drawn to the mindfulness, peace and joy that yoga brought me. It enabled me to be in my body in a way that no other movement form had. I took my teacher training in the US in 2018 with Tiffany Cruikshank and the therepeutic school of Yoga Medicine and have been teaching ever since.

I hope to encourage each student to notice, lean into and find joy in all of their being and attune with their bodies and the world around them.

I offer support for all and have a number of classes suitable for Every Body. You can expect somatic movement, slow and mindful flow, gentle and simple breath awareness practices, restorative yoga and Yoga Nidra.

I currently have two classes available for Every Body.

I also have a special interest in perinatal yoga and care.

Qualifications, Trainings and Practice

I have practiced a variety of styles of yoga and movement and some of the inspirational teachers I have studied with, practiced with and been influenced by include: Carly Mountain, Tiffany Cruikshank, Corrie Ananda Preece, Kim Rosen, Mimi Kuo-Deemer, Jean Hall, Tashi Dawa, Aki Amori and many more…

“I went to Alex’s pregnancy classes throughout both of my pregnancies, and they made a world of difference to my physical and mental wellbeing. The classes are really responsive to the needs of whoever is attending that day, and create an open and welcoming space to share how you’re feeling that day and what you might need from that particular class, physically and mentally. They really helped me get through the more difficult periods of my pregnancies, by making me feel really nurtured and seen - even when the experience wasn’t super rosy, which is rarely acknowledged openly in discussions about pregnancy. Also, huge kudos for encouraging napping during class when needed!

have been to a variety of Alex’s classes over the years. Whilst being totally down-to-earth, she really has a way with words that invites curiosity, presence and acceptance. On top of that, she has incredible knowledge about the body and movement practices. She’s taught me to value rest as much as movement and to not always be trying to “fix” something. I always leave feeling a bit more comfortable in my skin and having noticed something new about myself.
